Pro Tip: next time you get someone clothes as a gift, get a gift receipt.

You’re taste in clothes is awesome.

But you know those times when someone gets you something you’d never wear, but you have to grin and bear it because it’s from your “great aunt’s best friend’s sister in law who hasn’t seen you since you were a baby” and you can’t say no without hurting their feelings? Yeah. Why make someone else go through that?

It’s already a major no-no to leave a receipt with the price on it in a gift box. You don’t want the recipient to feel guilty if you’ve spent a lot (or to feel guilty yourself if you feel like you didn’t spend enough). Instead of cutting out the price on the tag, just ask the store for a gift receipt. It has all the details of the purchase – EXCEPT THE PRICE! That way, the recipient can exchange the item if they want to, and you won’t have to be embarrassed because of a pesky price tag!
